1. What is NPSB?

National Payment Switch Bangladesh (NPSB) is an electronic platform, started its operation with a view to attain interoperability among schedule banks for card based/online retail transactions. At present, NPSB is processing interbank Automated Teller Machines (ATM) transactions, Point of Sales (POS) transactions and Internet Banking Fund Transfer (IBFT) transactions.

2. What is NPSB ATM fund transfer?

This service is to facilitate transfer fund from one Bank account/card to other bank's account/card through NPSB using ATM. Account/card holder of City Bank can transfer funds (account to account/card) to other Banks through this service.

3. Is there any prerequisite for this service?

Yes. To transfer funds, following are the prerequisites:

  • Sender needs to have valid City Bank issued cards. Fund can be transferred to any eligible NPSB member Bank.
  • Receiver needs to have A/C or card which support NPSB service.

4. How to transfer funds using “NPSB Fund Transfer” service through City Bank ATMs?

It is a very easy process. Following are the steps for NPSB fund transfer:


  1. Insert the card and enter PIN for validation
  2. Select "NPSB Fund Transfer" option
  3. Select the type of fund transfer (Transfer to Card or Transfer to Account)
  4. Enter the beneficiary bank code
  5. Enter the beneficiary’s account / card number and confirm
  6. Enter the amount to be transferred and confirm
  7. Confirm the fund transfer details you have entered
  8. The transaction will be confirmed in the mobile number registered with the account / card and also on the screen.

5. What is Bank Code?

A bank code is a unique 6 (six) digit code assigned by the Bangladesh Bank.

6. Is it mandatory to input the Bank Code for transferring fund?

Yes, it is mandatory.

7. Where can I get the required beneficiary bank codes for NPSB ATM fund transfer?

The bank codes are available at ATM screen.

8. When will my transferred fund be reflected in my account / credit card?

The fund you transferred from ATM will be credited real-time. Once you complete your transaction, the amount transferred will be immediately available in your account or credit card.

9. What will be the transaction settlement process?

Settlements will be real time for Current and Saving Account and one day will be required for credit card bill payment

10. Is there any transfer and transaction limit for NPSB ATM Fund transfer service?

Settlements will be real time for Current and Saving Account and BOD based for Cards.

11. What are the transaction types for NPSB ATM Fund transfer service?

The transaction types are as follows:

  • City Bank debit card to other bank account transfer
  • City Bank debit card to other bank card transfer
  • City Bank credit card to other bank account transfer
  • City Bank credit card to other bank card transfer
  • Other Bank card to City Bank account transfer
  • Other Bank card to City Bank credit card transfer

12. Is there any charge for using NPSB ATM Fund transfer service?

There is no charge for NPSB ATM fund transfer. However, from credit card transfer transaction will be treated as ATM withdrawal transaction and per transaction fees will be BDT 150 or 2.5% whichever is higher.

13. What should I do if my fund transfer to account / credit card is not credited?

You may report this at any nearest City Bank branch or contact us at 16234 for assistance.

14. What will be my acknowledgement for fund transfer?

You will be notified by a SMS at your registered mobile number if your transaction is successful.

15. What should I do if I didn’t received my transaction confirmation SMS.
